Leisure time and its issues are one of the most important social issues of today's societies, and they are of particular interest to the scholars of education and sociology, as they have important cultural, moral, psychological, social and political implications. With regard to the young population of our country, youth are considered as one of the most important social groups; the importance of leisure time for this group, as well as the fact that spending leisure time is distributed unevenly among the population, the purpose of this article is to study Socio-economic status is one of the most important factors affecting the amount and pattern of leisure time. The research method was survey and a sample of 300 young people living in the city of Ilam selected through in-sample quotas and then interviewed and their socio-economic status and their leisure time. The Kendall and Fay test tests have been used to analyze the relationships of variables and test hypotheses. The results of this study showed that membership in high, middle and low socioeconomic status in most cases has a significant effect on the rate and pattern of youth leisure time.
