Today, problems caused by unemployment are increasing, especially among agricultural graduates. In this regard, universities can be very effective in solving this problem by providing entrepreneurial education. Considering that the heart of the entrepreneurship process is recognizing the opportunity, therefore, any attempt to develop entrepreneurship without considering this is doomed to failure. In this regard, the present comparative study investigated the capacity of entrepreneurial opportunities recognition among agricultural students of Ilam University. The current research has used the descriptive-correlational research design in data collection and analysis. The statistical population of the research included all fourth-year undergraduate students in the agricultural fields of Ilam University, 100 of them were selected for the study by stratified random sampling with proportional assignment. The main tool of data collection in this research was a questionnaire whose validity was checked by a panel of experts and its reliability was checked by calculating Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The SPSS 23 software was used for data analysis. The results showed that the agriculture students in Ilam University had entrepreneurship opportunity recognition capacity at the moderate level. Also, the findings of the research indicated that age, gender, taking entrepreneurship courses, participating in entrepreneurship training workshops, having an entrepreneurial role model, and field of study were among the factors influencing the ability to recognize entrepreneurial opportunities of agricultural students of Ilam University. The findings of this study have theoretical and practical implications for researchers, policymakers, planners and educators in higher agricultural education system in order to promote entrepreneurship opportunity recognition among agricultural students.
