چکیده In the present work, CeO2 nanoparticles were prepared using a green synthesis route and employed as photocatalysts to degrade tetracycline in aqueous media. The synthesized CeO2 NPs were characterised by XRD, FESEM-EDX, TEM, UV–Vis-DRS and BET analysis. The CeO2 NPs exhibited a crystallite size of approximately 14 nm, a bandgap of 2.86 eV, and a surface area of about 45.837 m2/g. TEM analysis confirmed the particle size to be around 25 nm. To evaluate the photocatalytic activity, experiments were conducted under various parameters such as photocatalyst dosage, contact time, visible light irradiation, initial dye concentration, and scavenger tests. The results revealed that the CeO2 NPs achieved a 93 % degradation of tetracycline within 75 min, indicating a high potential for photocatalytic applications in wastewater treatment.
