Abstract

Today, climate change presents a significant challenge that impacts the growth and performance of plants, leading to adverse environmental conditions that disrupt their metabolic and physiological processes, ultimately threatening their survival. Plants have developed crucial genetic and epigenetic regulatory mechanisms, such as DNA methylation and histone modifications, in addition to managing stress-responsive genes to withstand thermal stress. Chromatin regulators are vital in sustaining this gene network in highly stressful conditions. While many of these modifications are often temporary, specific changes may be enduring and can be inherited by the next generation, contributing to plant stress memory. Understanding genetic mechanisms and the characteristics of chromatin regulators and histone modifications reveals the complexity of plant stress memory
