In this study, synthesis, characterization and X-ray crystal structural characterization of trans [PdCl2(PPh3)(2)] complex are described. This compound has been fully characterized by elemental analysis (CHN), FT-IR, H-1, C-13 and P-31 NMR and also X-ray crystallographic. In this structure, the geometry around palladium atom is a slightly distorted square-planar. It was found that this compound can act as an efficient catalyst for amination of aryl halides to afford primary amines and has also been successfully employed in the catalytic stille cross-coupling reaction with satisfactory results. The catalyst showed recyclability and it can be reused without essentially losing its catalytic activity frequently.
