چکیده

Background: Over the past decade, there has been an elevated interest in searching for antimicrobial agents of plant origin, as well as in isolating and identifying active components, aim of this study is determine the potential antibacterial activity of ethanol extracts Leaves from (Zataria multiflora, Satureja bachtiarica and Mentha pulegium) against important human pathogens. Materials and Methods: Escherichia coli, Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus, and Enterobacter aerogenes were kinds of pathogenic bacteria to determine the antibacterial effect of ethanol extracts Leaves of (Zataria multiflora, Satureja bachtiarica and Mentha pulegium) using broth microdilution method. Results: The lowest minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration values for all pathogenic infections were observed by alcoholic extract of Mentha pulegium and While plant leaf extracts (Zataria multiflora, Satureja bachtiarica and Mentha pulegium) showed the varying diameter of inhibition zones for all bacterial isolates. Conclusions: In conclusion, it seems that the antibacterial effect of ethanol extracts Leaves of (Zataria multiflora, Satureja bachtiarica and Mentha pulegium) extracts could inhibit the growth of all of the mentioned bacteria.
