In this paper, we present a notion of approximate biprojectivity with respect to a closed ideal for Banach algebras, say approximate I-biprojectivity. The relation between this new notion and left ϕ-contractibility is investigated. Also we study group algebras and Fourier algebras under this new notion. In the final, we give some examples which shows the differences of this new concept and the classical ones.
