In the province of Ilam was applied 4 times in the course of a year anti tick solution, Flumethrin 1% pour-on at a dose of 1 mg/kg body weight to 10 sheep. The dates of treatments were chosen considering an epidemiological concept to influence the life cycle of Boophilus microplus prevent or reduce the development of the next generation ticks. 10 treated ewes and 10 sheep untreated controls were reviewed every 21 days. Treatments of March, July, September and October almost completely prevented the development of the first, second and third generation of ticks. While in the untreated group the first adult ticks to early October and were found to have increased to an average of 305 ticks/sheep, the treated group remained free of parasites. just in April reinfestation of treated animals began showing an average of 4 ticks per animal, where as in the untreated control group averaged 417 ticks were found per animal.
