This study is concerned with presupposition triggers and how it is one of the main concerns of educational scholars in the field of language learning. The objectives of this investigation are as follows analyzing the many sorts of Presupposition triggers employed by the principal characters in the novel Hard Times and indicating which one they use the most frequently. This study could help readers understand what presupposition triggers are and how to utilize them in everyday encounters to attain communication goals and make their utterances more full and vivid so that the interlocutress understands them. Finally, in addition to the diverse model presented by the researcher, further research into the types of PT that will be used in the future could be beneficial. The mixed technique is considered required as the aims of this study is to investigate how particular characters utilize presuppositions as triggers and their kinds; both the qualitative and quantitative methods adequately answer the research questions. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method, aligning well with its objectives. This study concludes that presupposition triggers in Hard Times are not merely linguistic devices but serve as thematic instruments that reinforce Dickens’s critique of industrial society.
