The geometric nonlinearresponse of spherical shells made of sandwichfunctionally graded material (SFGM) under uniform external pressure incor-porating the effects of transverse shear deformations is considered. Theequilibrium and compatibility nonlinear differential equations can besolved by using the modified interaction method. All of the equations aredeveloped based on the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT). In thepresent study, the geometric nonlinear problem has been solved for spe-cial boundary conditions including movable and fixed clamped supports inthe meridional direction. A closed-form nonlinear load-deflection relation-ship is developed for SFGM shell which expresses the equilibrium path ofthe shell.
