Ornamental plants are important due to their aesthetic features including flower, scent, leave, fruit, stem, bark, spines, foliage structure, and aesthetic shape. The plant production in this sector is important in social and economic point of view which includes different operations. The plant diversity, various challenges in plant production, and economical and social importance of the plants show the necessity of using high-level technologies in assessing the plants. Imaging technology provides accurate, reliable, fast, and cheep tools to be applied in different goals. Due to high ability of imaging and its advances, the applications of this technology in assessing ornamental plants were discussed.
