The research has been conducted to evaluate the effect of husking process on the rice productivity for two cultivars included Mashkhab 33 and Jasmine. The experiments have been carried out in the laboratory of the Babylon Plant in 2022. Two types of machines including S-KB40 and Y-ST50 were tested at three ranges of clearance between cylinders as 0.5 mm, 0.7 mm, and 0.9 mm for both studied rice cultivars. The tests were carried out in a factorial experiment based on the completely randomized design with three replications. The study was conducted on two axes. The first axis included husking process under the effect of technical characteristics of both machines. The study was of the characteristics following machine productivity, power required, and husking efficiency. The qualitative characteristics for two rice Mashkhab 33 and Jasmine cultivars included cracked grain ratio, broken rice ratio, and head rice. The economic costs for both rice cultivars included fixed costs, variable costs, and total costs. The results showed that S-KB40 machine is better than Y-ST50 machine in all studied conditions for both two rice JA and M-33 cultivars. The clearance 0.9 was significantly superior to the other two levels of 0.5 and 0.7 mm in all studied condition except the husking efficiency for both two rice JA and M-33 cultivars. The interaction between the machine type and clearance was significant because the overlap between the type machine S-KB40 and the clearance 0.9 mm provides the best results as compared with the machine type Y-ST50 of the clearance 0.5 mm which provides the worst results in all studied conditions except husking efficiency for both rice cultivars. Also, the interaction between the rice cultivar and clearance was significant because the overlap between the Jasmine cultivar and the clearance 0.9 mm provided the best results as compared with the Mashkhab 33 cultivar with the clearance 0.5 mm which provides the worst results in all studied conditions except husking efficiency. The best results have come from the overlap among S-KB40 machine, and 0.9 mm clearance in all studied conditions for both cultivars. The second axis was whitening process which included technical characteristic of both studied machines as total extraction ratio. This characteristic was identified as the inferred characteristic for the husking and whitening processes, on the mechanical performance of the machines type used in the experiment for both rice cultivars. The results showed that S-KB40 machine was better than Y-ST50 machine in all studied conditions for both rice cultivars.
