Herein, we report the synthesis and application of Cu(II) immobilized on Fe3O4@SiO2@L-Histidine, which was characterized by FTIR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, scanning electron microscopy and atomic absorption spectroscopy. The obtained nanoparticles were employed as a heterogeneous catalyst for the synthesis of 5-substituted 1H-tetrazoles via [3?2] cycloaddition reactions of various organic nitriles with sodium azide in polyethylene glycol as solvent. The catalyst did not undergo metal leaching and could be easily recovered and reused many times.
