Genus and species of Bathrips melanicornis (Shumsher) (Thripidae: Thripinae) are recorded from Iran, Ilam Province for the fi rst time. Specimens of this species have been collected on Glycine sp. (Fabaceae) by beating over a white plate. Diagnostic morphological characters and the geographical distribution of the newly recorded thrips are given.
