The genus Thrips Linnaeus (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) with 29 species, is the largest genus in Thripinae from Iran. Here, Thrips longiceps (Bagnall) is recorded from Iran for the first time. The specimens of this species were collected from Kermanshah Province, western Iran. The specimens are deposited in the collection of Department of Plant Protection, College of Agriculture, Ilam University, Iran.
