Abstract

Silver-basedcatalystsare valuablecatalystsin variousareasof thechemicalindustry,organicsyntheses,andtransformations,andfroma chemicalandindustrialpointof view,theirrecyclingis veryimportant.Herein,silvernaturalasphaltsulfonate(NA-SO3Ag)wasfabricatedvia the graftingofAg(I)on the surfaceof the solidnaturalasphaltsulfonateas a novelandefficientrecoverableslivernanocatalyst.Naturalasphaltis oneof the hydrocarbonsthatare foundin mineralveins.Thestructureof NA-SO3Ag wascharacterizedby diversemicroscopicandspectroscopictechniquesincludingFourier-transforminfrared(FTIR),scanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM),energydispersiveX-ray(EDX),thermogravimetricanalysis(TGA),Brunauer−Emmett−Teller(BET),X-raydiffraction(XRD),andinductivelycoupledplasmaopticalemissionspectroscopy(ICP-OES)techniques.TheNA-SO3Agnanocatalystwasutilizedfor C−SeandC−Sbondformationvia couplingreactionsof arylhalidesandorganicdisulfides/diselenidesto afforda widevarietyof diarylsulfides/selenidesin goodto excellentyields.Additionally,theutilizationof NA-SO3Ag in C−Cbondformationwasexaminedin Suzukicouplingreactionssuccessfully.Forat least6 trials,thisheterogeneouscatalystcanbe separatedandreusedwithoutanyactivityreduction
