A novel and fairly efficient chemoselective one-pot method has been developed for the synthesis of both 2-phenylamino-5-alkylthio-1,3,4-thiadiazole and bis-(2-phenylamino-5-alkylthio-)1,3,4-thiadiazole derivatives from phenylthiosemicarbazide and CS2.
