Abstract

Abstract The coming of the Safavid government was first recognized by Shiites as the official religion in Iran. As a result, the Shi'ite jurisprudence ruled the Safavid kings of the ulama. Creating jobs such as Sheikh al-Islam, Sadr, Malabashi, and the Imamate of the congregation, introduced Shiite clergy as a new social class with new roles. As a result of this policy, the particular class of scholars in the Iranian social system was strengthened so that it could be said that the scholars played an important role in every period of the reign of the Safavid monarchs, and that the Safavid kings adopted a particular policy regarding this institution. This study seeks to study the relations of the scholars during the reign of Sultan Mohammad Khodabandeh. In this research, a descriptive-analytical library method was used and these results were obtained by referring to libraries and using the tool of scanning and referring to valid sites. It seems that what was granted to the government during this period was the religious legitimacy of the reign of Sultan Muhammad Khodabandeh.
