Occupants' perceptions of thermal comfort and indoor thermal environment characteristics were recorded and compared in six office buildings in Tehran (Iran). For this purpose a questionnaire survey of 195 office occupants was conducted in conjunction with short-term physical monitoring. The calculated thermal comfort was based on PMV (predicted mean vote) and PPD (predicted percentage of dissatisfied people) indices from ISO 7730 (ISO 2005) and ASHRAE Standard 55 (ASHRAE 2004). The results show that generally there is a good correlation between the occupants' perceived mean thermal sensation from the questionnaire and the mean PMV obtained from the measurements.
