The N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) capped ZnSe quantum dots (QDs) with diameter of less than excitonic Bohr radius of ZnSe bulk structure were prepared by relatively fast and simple reflux method. The effect of solution pH on growth mechanism, band gap dependent excitation and emission color (bright cyan color) of QDs were studied. Excitonic and deep/ shallow trap emissions were clearly observed in PL spectra.
