Political Discourse is a field that is concerned with political issues. As phenomena under investigation, Political Discourse consists of debates, speeches, and inspections. This study aimed to investigate some of Al-Abadi's speeches in terms of the fundamental ideas of PDA, while keeping in mind that these speeches had not yet received significant linguistic scrutiny. The data of the analysis are three selected speeches of Iraqi Prime Minister Dr. Haider AL-Abadi. The theoretical framework used in this research was Lackof's model, which through it the researcher analzed Dr. Haider AL-Abadi speeches considering types of metaphor he utilized in his speeches. The data of this study was three speeches of Dr.Haider AL-Abadi, that he delivered them in Mosul Authorities. The corpuse were produced in three different times, in the first of October in 2015, in the thirteenth of October in 2016, and in the sixteenth of October in 2016. The results of the first part of our analysis showed that the main ideological components of Al-Abadi’s discourse can be summarized in the following concepts: victory, liberation, inclusiveness, acceptance of religious and ethnic diversity, and focus on unity. In addition, the results of the analysis showed that the most prominent conceptual metaphor used by Al-Abadi is the metaphor of moral strength with percentage of 45.33% which revolve around victories, and the comprehensive dominance of the personal conscience.
