According to what Halliday and Hassan presented in their theory of consistency, consistency is considered as the criterion in the area of linguistics and it is one of the main pillars in building the text (Halliday & Hassan, 1985). Based on this importance, the researcher tried to delve into this modern approach, and communicated with an Iraqi novelistic product. In doing so, the purpose of this study was to investigate consistency throughout the novels of Inaam Kachachi, the famous Iraqi writer, in the light of textual linguistics. The data of this study were extracted from her four novels namely, Drivers of Hearts, The American Granddaughter, Tashari, and Al-Khamira. The method used in the research was limited to describe the different aspects of the forms of linguistic use and communication. In addition, the applied method analyzed internal and external interrelationships throughout the novels. The findings of the study revealed that consistency was the most prominent textual criteria, which the research focused on, as it deals with the structure of the text and its interrelationship. The results also proved that the most important findings of modern linguistics represented in the textual linguistics, and the contributions of linguists represented an important tributary that will help the researchers in understanding modern linguistics.
