The importance of social networks has gained especial importance among many language educators. The main goal of the study is to investigate the effects of social networks on the student's language learning. To meet the ends, three groups of 20 students in EFL context of Iraq have been participated in the study. An Oxford placement test was given to students and makes them homogenous. Then pre-test is taken. Following the pre-test was the conduction of the treatment. Teaching through some social network platforms is the major treatment of the study. After that, the post-test was conducted. Then, an adapted and validated questionnaire has been distributed among the participants along with an interview to determine their attitudes concerning the efficacy of the social networks in their language learning. The whole analysis of data is done by SPSS software version 21. To consider the equality of variances in two groups, the results of Levens' test (F=5.543, Sig=2.98) indicated that the variance of both groups is equal. The results of Table (4-9) indicated that (sig=.17 at > p=05) level of significance. So, it is concluded that there is a significant difference between means scores of two groups. The results of the post-test indicated that using social media such as Instagram and Fcaebook could be effective and useful for students' language learning. It was also found out that females had better performance in their language learning in online context of language learning in comparison to male ones. Finally, it was indicated that students unanimously showed their agreement towards using social media in the process of language learning.
