This review article examines English for Specific Purposes (ESP) methodology in Iran through a review of 26 research articles from 2000 to 2024. Key findings highlight a shift towards learner-centered approaches, emphasizing genre-based and task-based instruction. The integration of authentic materials, technology, and collaborative learning strategies is crucial for enhancing language proficiency and preparing learners for professional success. However, challenges in disciplinary knowledge and a lack of empirical studies necessitate focused professional development and increased research efforts. Addressing these issues is essential for elevating the quality of ESP instruction in Iran.
