چکیده

Abstract The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of Google Assistant (GA) on Iranians' English language learning. In this research, an effort was made to measure the effect of the desired treatment on pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary and fluency by using the control and experimental groups. Since it was almost impossible to choose a sample completely random, in this semi-random design, 80 students aged 12 to 16 years were selected from the classes of Daneshvaran institute in Shoushtar city. Also, these students were divided into four groups of 20 people, which include two experimental groups and two control groups. Before starting the course, a pre-test was taken from the learners. After that, a 12-session, four-week course was held for each group. For the control groups, teaching was done with the traditional lecture method in the institute. But the experiment groups were taught with the help of a teacher and Google Assistant on their smartphones. At the end of the course, a post-test was held to determine the difference between the scores of the students at the beginning and the end of the course. These differences were analyzed with statistical methods to determine the effect of the desired variable on learning English. After analyzing the student's scores, results showed the significant different between pre and post-test of experimental groups. So, it was concluded that teaching with Google Assistant can help the students learn better and their pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary and fluency skills improve.
