Abstract The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has spread quickly all over the world, sending billions of people into lockdown. Following the outbreak of COVID-19, Iran - like other countries - has taken steps to control its epidemics. These widespread interventions include social distancing, closure of borders, closure of schools and universities, and lockdown of populations. Although vital, these interventions may be socially and economically troublesome and contributed to harmful personal, social, and educational results. This study tries to highlight the potential impact of the terrible COVID-19 outbreak and the following lockdown strategy on Iranian personal, social and educational life from the academic community perspective. Participants (N=720; university professors n=76, 10%, and university students n=644, 89%) completed the questionnaire assessing COVID-19's impact on various aspects of Iranian life. The findings of the current survey show that the Coronavirus and its outbreak have affected almost all aspects of Iranian life. This study outlines and discusses topics on Iranian personal, social and educational life that are broadly relevant to the current pandemic to help policy-makers, leaders and the public better understand what is going on and how to manage potential negative impacts.
